Who

Matter Group comprises Matter Solutions, Matter Asia/Pacific, Minds On, and Housatonic Design Network.

Dan Newman adopted these design and facilitation methods in the mid-1990s while working as a strategy consultant for Ernst & Young. He is based in Rome and London.

Alfredo Carlo, a highly-experienced graphic designer and founder of Housatonic, came on board in 2001 and is a recognized leader in the area of overlap between collaboration and visualization. He is based in Bologna.

Jodi Engelberg came to this work in the early 2000s through her experience as a health care administrator when the Vanderbilt Center for Better Health built a dedicated facilitation and design center in Nashville. Jodi lives in Miami.

After many years of working together informally, Dan, Alfredo, and Jodi came together to form Matter Solutions in late 2010.

Meanwhile, Hilde Rydning and Andor Gregorics launched Minds On in Oslo in 2003. Hilde learned these methods as a strategy and transformation consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Andor has been working with group dynamics and organizational development since the late 1980s. Both Hilde and Andor are Certified Professional Facilitators with the International Association of Facilitators.

After a decade of frequent, successful collaboration, Minds On and Matter decided to formally join forces in 2012.

Matter Asia/Pacific was launched in early 2013 by Philippe Coullomb and Antoine Viornery after holding leadership facilitation and design positions with Capgemini in France and Australia. Philippe adopted these methods ten years earlier after developing strong strategy credentials at Gemini Consulting. He is based in Sydney.
Antoine has a background in psychology and began working with Philippe and Dan and other leading practitioners of these methods in the early 2000s.  He is based in Bangkok.
