Context
In October 2023, an important international organization launched the Community Health Delivery Partnership (CHDP) with the aim of strengthening primary healthcare at the community level in the priority countries where it operates. The main objective of this initiative was to share knowledge and further support the implementation of the Community Health Roadmap across its network. The organization sought to bring together technical focal points representing global and regional health partners, as well as representatives from selected countries, with the goal of establishing a working group/forum to accelerate work on community health.
Approach
Matter was asked to co-design and facilitate the Community Health Delivery Partnership Workshop, a hybrid technical kick-off event held across multiple locations (Geneva, Washington D.C., and online) on December 13–14, 2023, involving around 30 partners of the initiative. To deliver this hybrid event, Matter deployed two on-site facilitation teams—one in Geneva and one in Washington D.C.—to support in-person participants, along with a technical event expert to support online participants. This setup enabled all participants to collaborate as if they were in the same location.
Results
The key outcomes achieved included alignment among partners on what success would look like for the partnership—especially at the country level, including defining the actions needed to achieve it and how progress would be measured. In addition, the working group’s ways of working were defined in terms of functions, roles, and responsibilities; commitments were gathered; and each partner’s contributions to the programme were mapped.
