Strategic Dialogue

Context

At the end of their Strategic Period (2022-2025), a humanitarian organization initiated early analysis and planning for the next Supply Strategy and Office Management Plan (OMP), with broader implications for the supply function within the upcoming Strategic Plan 2026-2029. Considering the evolving global context since the last Strategic Plan and various OMPs prepared, the Supply Division is asking some fundamental questions around the supply function, such as SD’s operating model, internal organization, financial model, the implications of localization and more.

Approach

Matter helped design and facilitate the SD’s Strategic Dialogue and further helped develop its OMP as a key outcome of the dialogue. The project was held from September to November, through several workshops in Copenhagen and online, and brought together 80 people, including SD staff and external stakeholders. Matter was asked to bring experience in strategic planning and collaboration to help the Supply Division to develop the Office Management Plan as a key outcome of this dialogue.

Results

The main results included informing internal and external stakeholders on the strategic shifts the supply function may need to undertake during the next OMP period, reviewing changes needed to the strategies, approaches, and organization of SD, to maximise results for children in a changing world, and provide useful inputs to the organization Strategic Plan, and respective OMPs.
