Strategy Week – One Strategy

Context

In the years leading up to the Strategy Week, a pharmaceutical company underwent significant transformation, including the appointment of a new CEO, the expansion of the Executive Team, the launch of a renewed R&D strategy, and the achievement of B Corp certification. Held from 25 to 28 June in Parma, the event marked a key milestone in this transformation, bringing together 500 participants from across functions, regions, and franchises, including the Global Executive Leadership Team (GELT), to reflect on the One Strategy, clarify objectives, and build alignment around the organisation’s four strategic pillars.

    Approach

    • Co-designed and facilitated the Strategy Day and key morning sessions of the week with the Core Team through a participatory design process.
    • Structured the day around strategic plenaries and collaborative sessions, combining leadership storytelling with interactive sessions.
    • Engaged members of the GELT in co-presenting the four strategic pillars, reinforcing ownership and leadership alignment around the strategy.

    Results

    • A broader shared understanding of the external context and its strategic implications for the company’s transformation.
    • A clearer and more compelling narrative of the One Strategy and the four strategic pillars.
    • Increased engagement and collective ownership in driving the next phase of implementation.
