Context
In preparation for a new mid-term strategy, the Group Leadership Team of a leading international insurance and financial services company convened for a two-day workshop in Venice. The event aimed to align leadership on key strategic challenges and ensure their perspectives would meaningfully inform the strategy development process.
Approach
- Co-designed and facilitated a structured yet participatory workshop to enable active contribution from all participants.
- Combined visual thinking, rapid iteration, and team-based dialogue to explore strategic priorities, implementation challenges, and internal/external factors affecting success.
- Organized interconnected activities including walkabouts for initial insights, small-team challenges, and final synthesis sessions.
Results
- Produced a shared map of leadership input on strategic priorities, including challenges, success factors, and implementation insights.
- Enabled real-time sensemaking among participants and validated contributions through direct engagement with leadership.
- Reinforced a culture of listening and co-creation at the leadership level.
- Generated visual and collective outputs that informed subsequent phases of strategy design.
